Alzena Parker Turner was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to Wilbert and Bertha Harris Parker. I was the baby of four (4) children. I lived in Alexandria, Louisiana with my grandparents Rev. Joseph and Lillie Nash.
She attended the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age.
She attended Reed Elementary School in Alexandria, Louisiana.
After the death of her Grandparents, she lived with her oldest sister Earline Nash until she was eleven (11) years old. In 1962 she moved to Houston, Texas to live with her mother. They lived in the Six Ward, and she attended Gregory Elementary School. Later They moved to the Studewood Heights area. She starting attending Booker T. Washington in 1962 and graduated in May of 1968.
She joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor King C. Mason where she met Edward Turner and they were united in marriage on March 1, 1968. She worked one full summer at the Selective Service in 1968, then in 1970 she was hired at Southwestern Bell and later retired in 1990.
Currently she is a faithful and dedicated member of the Garden Grove Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has been for over thirty plus years. Rev. Will Moore is the Senior Pastor.
God blessed her to start a company named A.R.T.S. (Authentic Rich Tasty & Scrumptious Catering, & Ceramics & Gifts).
She loves working and sharing God’s word with people. Later God laid it on her heart to start this Non-profit Ministry, God’s Anointed Reaching To Serve Ministry Inc. (God’s A.R.T.S. Ministry), which was created to serve the less fortunate by providing needed services to the community.
The ministry is a group of born again Christians doing the work of the master.
